About the Artist :
Orion Charmellio Romero(he/they) is a multimedia artist and writer whose art is focused on making a difference. He uses his creativity to share his experiences as a queer disabled mixed race individual. He refuses to remain silent about what hurts him and what hurts others in his community. His work is loud in both its color choices and subject matter.
About the Art :
This show is focused on raising awareness for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis otherwise known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Orion’s experience with this disease has been life shattering but for many others with the disease it is much worse. He hopes to use his voice to give a voice to those who are too sick to speak out. The dismissal and lack of research is inhumane. Orion hopes that from this show, everyone can relate to those left behind on a human level & notice the individuals who have been forgotten.
“Some say silence is golden. I am not silent. You just aren’t listening.”
