A Christmas Carol
By Charles Dickens
Adapted by Kelci Friend & Peter Orvetti
Directed by Peter Orvetti
Produced by Jeff Poretsky
This streamlined version of the holiday classic was created specifically to provide opportunities to new and returning actors of all ages. It’s a slightly darker take — though still family-friendly — that turns the focus to the people in Ebenezer Scrooge’s life and how his actions have impacted them. DC Theatre Arts said that ‘the classic story’s themes of compassion, social welfare, and human connection shine brightly’ in this original adaptation, revised and updated for GAC this December.
