Quest for Volunteers
The Greenbelt Arts Center welcomes individuals who are enthusiastic about working in and around live theater. We have a variety of volunteer positions open and we encourage you to contact us and let us know that you are interested in filling one or more of the roles below:
Ongoing Volunteer Positions:
Front of House: usher and staff concessions
- Comfortable with cash sales and customer service
- Available 2.5 hours for 2-3 performances a month

Business/Advertising Liaison
- Distribute postcards to local businesses
- Coordinate incoming (paid) advertising
- Coordinate with Roosevelt Center Merchants and represent GAC at meetings.

Facilities Manager
- Maintains GAC’s facility (work lights, lobby lights, heating, air conditioning, restrooms, etc.)
- Manages storage and cleaning of GAC’s spaces
- Coordinates and organizes regular cleaning parties.

Festival/Event Representatives
- Set-up and tear-down information table
- Represent GAC to the public by answering questions, collect volunteer or membership forms and recording contact information (email addresses and/or mailing addresses)
- Distribute current postcard(s), season postcards and other literature as requested.
- May also include walking in the Greenbelt Labor Day Parade, carrying GAC banner and/or distributing literature to the public at events.

Grant Writer/Development Coordinator
- Dedicated Grant Writer to locate and submit for funding grants annually.
- Coordinate project-specific and general fundraising efforts
- Assist General Manager with donor management

Marketing & Outreach Coordinator
- Connect with school groups, social organizations
- Organize Group Sales events

Production Manager
- Manages GAC’s technical operations (lights, sound, set, props)
- Coordinates with ALL productions
- Experience required – send us your CV or Resume!

Volunteer Coordinator
- Connect with volunteers in all aspects of administration and production
- Review existing volunteer management information and revise procedures for tracking and contacting volunteers as needed.
- Work with Directors and Producers to schedule volunteer workers and track hours
- Maintain accurate contact information in GAC’s database
- Schedule “Thank You” events (pizza parties, receptions)
