Great opportunity to directly support a thriving hub of the Arts in Greenbelt and be a driving force of a volunteer non-profit organization.  Ideal for a highly-organized, independent worker who likes to interact with a wide variety of people and enjoys the freedom to work a flexible schedule and to work from home ~25% of the time.  The General Manager will manage the physical facilities and perform administrative duties.  

Pay: $16/hour for 8-16 hours/week, based on hours worked.  

COVID-19 Closure: Currently, the Greenbelt Arts Center’s facility is not open to the public, however the facility still needs some routine maintenance and attention.  Further, there are administrative duties that come up on a regular basis. Currently, the duties are reduced (closer to 8 hours/week), but this is expected to return to 16 hours/week once the facility reopens post-COVID.

Training: The retiring General Manager has provided their manual and will provide training and reach-back for questions for a fixed period of time.  It is expected that the initial few weeks on the job will be primarily devoted to training.  

Duties: Facility management (climate control, basic maintenance, scheduling repairs, safety code compliance/inspections, logistics for supplies, access control to the facility for the cleaner and others needed), Administrative (purchases, calendar management for the facility, coordination with volunteers on a wide variety of tasks that involve the Center).  

Skills:

Required: Highly organized, process-oriented, independent learner, customer service skills, written and verbal communication, basic computer skills (Google Docs, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Email, Internet, Calendar Management)

Desired: Experience with facility management and interest in the performing arts

Willing to Learn: The Arts People System for ticketing/patron database management.

Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license for errands.  Must be able to pass a background check with the City of Greenbelt.
